Two Llamas works with remote Indigenous communities in the Asia Pacific region. It was was borne as a result of increasing project activities undertaken by SUP Wilderness Adventures.
Our projects are all developed in consultation with community leaders and are undertaken with the permission of the relevant government agencies. Project work typically takes between one hour and three days of your time (time commitments are communicated prior to participation). Past projects have included:
Health through nutrition workshops
Composting/ recycling/ waste management workshops
Handicrafts/ art/ craft workshops
Women's business workshops
Installing sanitation amenities
Sustainable socio-economic development workshops
Projects are initiated and implemented by Founder and Rotarian Chantal Clarke (Dunbar); Founder of SUP Wilderness Adventures and Two Llamas.
All SUP Wilderness Adventures profits are currently directed towards project costs, and we prefer to request used items (such as gumboots, hospital beds, etc) rather than donations of cash. This is approach helps reduce the amount of unnecessary waste going to landfill and allows us to achieve significant results while spending only small amounts of money.
If you have an item you'd like to donate or would like to assist us in our activities (either by accompanying us overseas or by helping from home), we would welcome hearing from you.
Helping us help others
When you donate a small portion of your vacation time to engage in meaningful travel, you give back to the host community. Simple activities allow you to feel a great sense of accomplishment by helping those who are less fortunate than yourself.
If you'd like to participate, you don't need prior experience but you must have a willingness to get involved and roll up your sleeves. Our voluntourism opportunities provide individuals, couples, families, older people, trades-people, schools, and clubs with an opportunity to share their skills, gain fieldwork experience and become immersed in authentic cultural experiences that benefit impoverished communities.
