SUP PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES 2020
DATE: 6-14 March 2020
DURATION: 9 days / 8 nights
This SUP tour of the Philippines always sells out as it’s ideal for solo travellers, couples, small groups of friends and adventure travellers seeking to get off the beaten path. SUP Wilderness Adventures has crafted a stand up paddle boarding holiday that takes in Palawan’s most iconic destinations from El Nido all the way to Coron Town.
Few destinations can hold a candle to the brilliance of Palawan. Located in the west of the Philippines, more than 1780 islands form an archipelago that stretches almost as far south as Borneo and north to the island of Mindoro.
With so many islands, comes a lot of coastline: 1200 miles (almost 2000 km)) in fact! Characterised by jelly blue lagoons, jungle rivers, hidden caves, and palm fringed white sand beaches, it all adds up to a paddle boarder’s paradise!
Nearly 11,000 square kilometres (more than 35% of the country's coral reefs), are found in Palawan, making the region an important one for marine conservation efforts. Sheer granite cliffs thrust skywards while the sea’s incessant ebb and flow gnaws at the base of limestone karst islets.
There's no doubting that Palawan is one of the most spectacular places in all of the Philippines and - if you believe the likes of CNN Traveler and Conde Nast - you'll be frolicking along some of the best beaches in the world.
