SUP GALAPAGOS ISLANDS, ECUADOR 2020
DATE: 2-11 June 2020
DURATION: 10 days / 9 nights
The Galapagos Islands are usually found at the very top of most people’s Bucket Lists. They are located in a region that's so remote, that the wildlife remains largely undisturbed by humankind.
Reading Charles Darwin’s works, it’s easy to see the enormous impression that the Galapagos left on the young naturalist. His brief visit in 1845 provided the young scientist with the proof he needed to back up his Theory of Evolution.
A trip to the Galapagos Islands is arguably the journey of a lifetime as the archipelago is located 1,000 km from the Ecuadorian mainland. Straddling the equator, there are 13 major islands in total; 5 of which are inhabited by humankind.
Despite - or perhaps because of - this isolation, an astounding variety of wildlife can be observed in their natural environment. It is this spectacle that has fascinated scientists since Darwin’s time, and continues to lure conservationists, photographers, divers and lovers of nature, who migrate here from every corner of the globe.
